Provincial Organization Membership
Any Provincial Organization/Club representing the disciplines of Competitive Trail, and/or Ride & Tie in any Province or Territory of Canada is eligible to become a voting member. (By-Law 1, Article 3, A)
Membership is required for Governing Provincial Organizations representing Competitive Trail and/or Ride & Tie, (By-Law II, Article 1, K) for:
a) Selecting and fielding teams for National Team Events and/or
b) Appointing a representative to CaLDRA’s International Committee to field International teams.
Individual (Senior/Junior/Family)
- Any interested individual in any Province or Territory of Canada is eligible to become a member. (By-Law 1, Article 3, A)
- Membership is required for participation in any Canadian Championship, or International event, (By-Law II, Article 1, J) for:
- a) Individual and/or Team competitors/riders and horse owners.
- b) Team Veterinarians, and Chef d’Equipes
- c) Selection Committee members
- Exemptions at Canadian Championships:
- a) Competitors riding under IAHA rules only (2002), or
- b) Competitors riding in Open Divisions only (2002)
- Membership is required for CaLDRA Board Members and Committee Chairpersons (2007)
Associate
- Any foreign individual or related organization is eligible to become a non-voting member and shall be sent all publications and notices. (By-Law 1, Article 3, B)
Benefits/Voting Privileges
Provincial Organization Member
- a) Nominate a Director who represents them on the CaLDRA board;
- b) Receive the National Competition Handbook and updates;
- c) Receive News Bulletins and Newsletters;
- d) Receive the Governance and Policies Manual;
- e) Vote (1) as an Organization by way of their elected director at the AGM. Voting delegate at the AGM to be designated in writing by the member club (By-Law 1, Article 4, A)
Individual Member
- a) May participate in National and International competitions (By-Law II, Article 1, J);
- b) Receive the National Competition Handbook and updates;
- c) Receive News Bulletins and Newsletters;
- d) Vote on issues during the year and at the AGM. Individual (18 or over) membership has one (1) vote; Family membership has two (2) votes (By-Law I, Article 4, B)
Associate Member
- a) Receive News Bulletins and Newsletters.
Voting
- a) A vote may be taken by mail/email (2007) when a matter of sufficient importance arises to warrant a vote of the entire membership. The presiding officer may direct a written ballot to be mailed/emailed (2007) to each voting member to be returned by mail/email (2007) before a date set therein (By-Law 1, Article 4, C)
- b) Voting by proxy is allowed. (By-Law 1, Article 4, D)
Membership Fees
- The membership year shall run from January 1st to December 31st annually (By-Law 1, Article 3, C)
- Fees are reviewed annually by the CaLDRA Board for the following year.
Proof of Membership
- Membership cards or equivalent are forwarded to members each year upon payment of the annual membership fee.
- Proof of Individual Membership will be required at the entry desk when picking up the ride package.
